Chung, Hasnal & Partners is an established legal firm in Kuala Lumpur with a strong conveyancing and property practice. We act for developers, banks, purchasers, vendors, and financial institutions on high-volume residential, commercial, and industrial transactions. We also handle strata title matters and JMB/MC legal work.
Role Summary
We are looking for a qualified and competent Conveyancing Lawyer to join Chung, Hasnal & Partners. You will manage property transactions end-to-end and also play an active role in growing the firm’s conveyancing portfolio through client relationships and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conveyancing & Legal
- Advise purchasers and vendors on residential, commercial, and industrial SPA
- Draft, review, and vet Sale & Purchase Agreements, Option to Purchase, and ancillary documents
- Conduct title search, bankruptcy search, and due diligence
- Attend to loan documentation, bridging loan, redemption, stamping, and registration with LHDN and Land Office
- Prepare and vet Loan Agreements, Facility Letters, Deeds of Assignment, and Charge documents. Liaise with panel banks on drawdown
- Act for developers: prepare master SPA, Deeds of Mutual Covenant, schedule of parcels, and attend to MOT preparation, signing, and registration
- Coordinate with JPP, COB, and Land Office on strata title issuance
- Advise JMB/MC on by-laws, resolutions, and enforcement of maintenance charges
2. Marketing & Business Development
- Build and maintain relationships with property developers, real estate agents, bankers, and existing clients to generate new conveyancing mandates
- Attend networking events, property launches, and bank panel meetings to represent Chung, Hasnal & Partners
- Prepare marketing materials, legal updates, and presentations for developers and corporate clients
- Support proposals and pitches for new developer projects and bank panel appointments
- Contribute to the firm’s brand presence through articles, social media content, and client seminars on property law topics
- Work with partners to identify opportunities in new property projects across WP Kuala Lumpur and all districts of Selangor
3. Client & File Management
- Maintain proper file notes, diary, and billing
- Provide clear updates to clients, developers, banks, and real estate agents
- Ensure compliance with Legal Profession Act 1976, Solicitors’ Account Rules, and AML/CFT requirements
Requirements
- Qualification: LLB or CLP. Admitted to the Malaysian Bar and hold a valid Practicing Certificate
- Experience: 2-5 years post-qualification experience in conveyancing. Proven client-facing experience is an advantage
- Technical Knowledge: Sound knowledge of National Land Code 1965, Housing Development Act 1966, Strata Titles Act 1985, Strata Management Act 2013, and Stamp Act 1949
- Marketing Skills: Confident communicator with business development mindset. Experience engaging developers, banks, or RE agents preferred
- Skills: Excellent drafting, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office. Familiar with e-STAMP, STAMPS, and e-Tanah system is an advantage
- Traits: Meticulous, proactive, self-driven, and able to manage high volume work while growing client base
- Language: Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an advantage
Preferred
- Existing network with property developers, banks, and real estate agencies in KL/Selangor
- Familiarity with procedures of Pejabat Tanah WP Kuala Lumpur and all District Land Offices in Selangor
- Experience with strata title issuance, subdivision, and MOT registration
